Our history tells us how we built civilisation on top of the poor,
That the west is the older brother you never wished for,
Trying to teach the world our way,
All the Christian words we say,
But fear was the seed we planted to stay,
We could harvest the work of others,
There was no intent to share the world as brothers,
We just laid the law of their land,
As we add another laurel to our headbands,
We aren’t the saviours of the people we taught,
We are the saboteurs stealing their land without thought,
We shackled the world so we would never get caught.
