Sam is 30 years old and currently lives in Noosa Heads, Queensland. He teaches English and Drama at a secondary school and has previously held the position of Principal of a primary school in North Queensland, and a Deputy-Principal on the Sunshine Coast. He has had wide ranging experiences including his role as a Rural Firefighter Volunteer for five years and a current Justice of the Peace for Queensland. He is studying a Masters in Arts (Writing) at Swinburne University and is in the process to begin his Doctorate in 2019. A love for travel, Sam has travelled extensively throughout the world and has even taught English in China. He attributes his passion of writing to his dad, who has written a novel and released collections of short stories. A keen interest in politics, Sam is the current Vice-President of the ALP in Noosa, but isn’t sure yet if he would like to take the plunge to run for office, or commentate through journalism.
